Miss Diva

Brooke is really growing fast and her little personality continues to shine. They love to call her Diva at school because, apparently, she has to be the center of attention at all times....what's wrong with that, right? :-) Here are a few pictures of our little "angel" as I like to call her. I just got to cuddle with her on the couch and remembered what a sweet thing it is to fall asleep while snuggling with your little one....

What happened, Mommy?

So, Peyton's new favorite phrase is "What happened, Mommy?"....pronounced "hoppened". IT is seriously the cutest and funniest thing I've ever heard. I'm laughing to myself right now as I'm writing about this. So, he uses it ALL the time and I'm not so sure he even knows what it means. Like today, he was being very quiet in Brooke's room and when I finally went in there, he has taken all of the disposable placemats out their bag and their were strewn all over the floor....he quickly said, "What hoppened, Mommy?" HILARIOUS!!!

This weekend

We had a great weekend. Friday night, me, James, my sis-in-law, Dianne, my brother-in-law, Brian, and some of his friends, went to the Kenny Chesney concert in San Antonio. OMG....it was awesome! I've never seen Kenny in concert and it was awesome. He puts on such a show! The only bad part was that we got home at 1 AM and then my beautiful children proceeded to wake up the next couple of hours nonstop....so needless to say, I didn't get to bed until close to 4 AM and then they were up for the day at 6:30. I'm still getting used to the fact that I just need to accept that I will NEVER again (or at least not for 18-20 years) get sleep again. And oh, how I love sleep. Speaking of...why is it that when you have two children, they conspire together to NEVER sleep at the same time....it's an awful trick they play on us parents, I think. Anyway, I digress....Saturday, Dianne stayed around and we laid around the house most of the day and napped which was wonderful. Well, the kiddos and James napped and Di and I caught up on our Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. Then that afternoon, we headed over to Fredericksburg for some delicious homemade ice cream from Clear River. I had the pecan pie ice cream which was to die for! It actually had real chunks of pecan pie in it...yum! Then we browsed some shops for a bit and headed home. Sunday was uneventful...laundry, groceries, playing outside.

As for an update on my beautiful babies....

Peyton has started potty training as of last week and is doing surprisingly well! The ladies at school are so wonderful about working with him everyday really hard which really helps out alot. It's been kind of hit and miss, but yesterday, he made it to the potty four times!!!! Major accomplishment and he was SO proud of himself. We had to call MiMi and Daddy Jim and NaNa and PaPa to let them know of course! Peyton is learning new words every day and talking in sentence so well. His favorite thing right now is the movie, Cars....he LOVES it. He also likes falling asleep on the couch while watching his movie when it's naptime on the weekends. He also loves his new playground set that James made him for his birthday.

Brooke is getting bigger everyday and her little personality is really starting to shine. She loves to smile and we even got her to laugh a few times this weekend. I had forgotten what a sweet thing a baby's laugh is....definitely a gift from God. I have recently discovered how much fun it is to buy girl clothes, so she is a very stylish baby these days! She loves to watch her big brother, kick water in the bath tub and just hang out with her Mommy and Daddy.

Mommy calling cards

So, for those of you who haven't heard of these things (I just learned about them from my friend Sharon Ballay....who BTW has a really cool store, Eloquence, here in Kerrville...i'll have to blog about that later). These mommy calling cards are something you can hand out to other mom's for play dates or just if you want to give someone your information and either don't have a business card or want something more fun and personal for your personal life. You can always buy them, but I found this cool website where you can download a free template to do it....really cute too! Here's the link to it...scroll down to the "downloadable pdf" link.

Update

So, I have decided that I am going to blog at least once a week if not more. I have recently discovered the world of blogging and more importantly, "blog-stalking"! I'm still going to mainly use the blog for photos and keeping everyone up-to-date with what's going on in our little world. But, I'm also going to use it share all the cool blogs and products I keep finding! Talk to you soon!

Week of March 16

This was a good week. Brooke went to the doctor for her two-month checkup. She is doing great and is A big girl! She weighed 11 pounds, 7 oz. and is in the 90th percentile for her height and weight! She wasn't feeling too well after her shots but is doing much better now.

Peyton went to stay with MiMi and Daddy Jim on Thursday and is coming back tomorrow. We miss him so much but he has having a great time!

I have been burning the midnight oil trying to get all the tax returns done...April 15 can't come soon enough!

James is busy with work and also has been working in the backyard to get things ready for Peyton's 2nd birthday party coming up very soon! Here are a few pictures from the past week!

So we found another way Peyton is JUST like James....

He loved corn on the cob! This was his first time to eat it and he thought it was great!
